Defined as an EXPERIENCE MUSEUM, Memorial Minas Gerais Vale brings the soul and traditions of Minas Gerais in an original and interactive way. Actual and virtual scenarios mix up to create experiences and sensations that take visitors from the 18th century to the 21st century. Far from giving visibility only to the historical record, the Memorial puts present and past in direct contact, thus promoting other forms of bringing visitors closer to issues present throughout our times. Opened in 2010, the building where Memorial Vale is located formally headquartered the Minas Gerais Treasury Department. The historical building dates back to 1897 and is the place where Belo Horizonte’s foundation stone was set. The construction is listed by the Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute of Minas Gerais – IEPHA/MG. The Memorial was created and is maintained by Vale through its Foundation, and is part of the Praca da Liberdade Cultural Circuit.
